My first course of action is to give them a dark demonic background and then apply some contrast and clarity to make every wrinkle and fold pop. But, the coup de grâce, was the application of an IR (infared filter). It shifted the color temperature of the image and produced a very distinct look. I have always had a soft spot for black and white image's, sometimes with just a bit of color peeking through. What I like the most with this composition is that it exhibits a good range of tonal contrast, light to dark with the brightest tone's right across the center of the image. Some, would say that the rules of photography prohibits the placement of the subject, centered as it is, at that location. But, what the hell. It's always feels good to break a few rules. I used a very small f/stop so that I could capture as much depth of field as possible and my ISO was at it's lowest setting (100).
