This young doe seemed friendly, as I approached a herd of deer (small herd) at the Morton Arboretum. The rest completely ignored me and where on their way before I got a good shot.
Thursday's Image- Blog
A weekly Image to promote better photography.
POST 31
This was taken at the Morton Arboretum. I added some "Nik" filters, which gave it a bit of an overexposed feel to it. I plan on taking the same picture in 2 or 3 months and create a bi-panel landscape.
POST 30
Behind me lies the gray mass of winter with it's cold wind and slick trails. But ahead, just out of my reach, stands Spring, waiting to burst forth into warmth and color.
It could also be that I'm sneaking a peek at a well manicured golf course (again, just out of my reach) but very inviting. This image was captured at Herrick Lake which abuts Arrowhead Golf Course. I was using my trusty Canon T3 with a shutter speed of 1/750th and an aperture of f/5.6 with an ISO of 200 and 36mm of focal length.
POST 29
Lyman Woods is this location, it is at the corner of Highland and 31st Street, in Downers Grove.
POST 28
This shot comes to us from McDowell Grove, right before we got a dusting of snow. I used a middle of the road aperture of f/5.6, creating a fairly shallow depth of field which produces a little more depth to the image. My other settings were 1/90 sec shutter, ISO 200, with a focal length of 43mm.
POST 27
This image was captured at Herrick Woods. When you enter the main trail from the west parking lot, it's about a 100 yards in. As you can see it was taken in early morning and I like to believe I caught some good contrast with the lights and darks.
POST 26
This was shot at the Blackwell Forest Preserve. There are hundreds if not thousands of Geese grouped on a few lakes in the preserve. The cacophony of noise they produce when they decide to take flight is almost deafening. Unfortunately, I missed the takeoff, but I captured these 4 guys coming in on final approach.
POST 25
This was shot at the Morton Arboretum. Char gave me a membership for Christmas so, I plan on photographing it front to back. This goes out to Sue and Andrea.
