This was taken at Herrick Lake, which I was traveling, when I spied this shot which contained such great highlights and shadows, I did massage the colors a bit to create a more amazonian effect which, I think, adds a lot of warmth and feeling to the image.

Some beautiful backyard peonies, just soak’n up spring.

Today is the first day of summer but I’m holding on to spring for another week or two.

I have been a bit lackadaisical in the publishing of my Image’s, which the majority of my viewing audience has voiced their displeasure with , so I shall get back on the straight and narrow and be more punctual in my issues.

This guy (above), fooled me at first and I thought he was a butterfly, but it turns out he’s a Banded Damselfly or for the common man, a Dragon Fly. It’s wings are dark and rather dense which confused me.He was part of a merry band that quickly jumped from plant to plant devouring what ever it is they devour.

This was an image shot at the Blackwell Forest Preserve, which is just northwest of me. The results of high water are rather evident, with all the reeds that succumbed to the force of nature.

Spring has sprung and so have the Magnolia trees. I found this guy over at the Morton Arboretum, just before our last (I hope), snowfall.

A bale of turtles are enjoying the spring sun. And trying to understand why they belong to a “bale”.

All though this may look like a frame from “Raiders of the Lost Ark”, you would be wrong. It is a small wash out of the trail at the Richard Young forest preserve in Kendall County IL. A small but enjoyable walk with some interesting photo opportunities (if adventure is your name!!!!)..

This little yellow dandy was just waiting for me to take it’s picture. Located at the Contigny Park. I don’t know if these flowers have sprouted from the ground or perhaps been transplanted but they represent a vanguard of color just about to appear and brighten our landscapes………Hooray!
